Of course you can pop the lid off at any point and manually dry everything, but most of you will never have to. As long as you pop the lid off between sessions and shake out any water, lid and prefilter will dry on their own by the time you go to use it again. Just know that ventilation is critical to longevity, and starting each new day with a dry unit is ideal.

So the following are simply the basics for maximizing Smoke Eraser lifespan.

First of all, everyone should remove lid and prefilter whenever unit is not in use, especially overnight, as this will ventilate the unit and help dry out the HEPA filter. Secondly, a Docking Station can be added to dry units on demand which will help tremendously for starting each new day with a dry HEPA filter. Know that it is undried moisture compounding daily that leads to the premature failure seen in competing units at just 300 uses. The Dock, a product typically bought once, is known for multiplying lifespans to countless units, repeatedly bringing them back to new, and eliminating clogging and restriction altogether. A must for heavy users, if not rotating a pair of units, but the Dock also benefits all level users. So anyone wishing to increase the already incredible lifespans, can simply add a Dock to the mix. The bottom line, Docking Stations maximize Smoke Eraser value for all.

As mentioned, another option that can multiply lifespans is adding a 2nd Smoke Eraser into rotation. But whether adding a Dock, or rotating a pair of Smoke Erasers, the objective is simply to dry out HEPA filters when not in use in order to avoid downtime. Either method works, but a good rule of thumb is this; rotating 2 increases life of 2, while adding a Dock increases life of many. Can't decide? Some never bother to. I've actually got Smoke Eraser veterans that I see eventually preferring SE Pair/Dock combos. The combination is popular for its ease, longevity, and effectiveness as having units around the house maximizes convenience, while keeping a Dock on deck with multiple units in rotation, guarantees max unit life and max bang for your buck.
