Of course you can pop the lid off at any point and manually dry everything, but most of you will never have to. As long as you pop the lid off between sessions and shake out any water, lid and prefilter will dry on their own by the time you go to use it again. Just know that ventilation is critical to longevity, and starting each new day with a dry unit is ideal.

So the following are simply the basics for maximizing Smoke Eraser lifespan.

First of all, everyone should remove lid and prefilter whenever unit is not in use, especially overnight, as this will ventilate the unit and help dry out the HEPA filter. Secondly, add a Docking Station in order to dry units on demand as this will help tremendously for starting each day with a dry HEPA filter. Know that it's undried moisture compounding daily that leads to the premature failure seen in competing units at just 300 uses. The Dock, a product typically bought once, is known for multiplying lifespans to a countless number of units, repeatedly bringing them back to new, and eliminating clogging and restriction altogether. The product is simply a must for maximizing Smoke Eraser value and lifespan.

Another option that can multiply lifespans, but usually most effective for light to moderate users, is the addition of a 2nd Smoke Eraser into rotation. Although not as effective as a Dock, I have noticed Smoke Eraser veterans eventually preferring an SE Pair/Dock combo. The combination popular for its ease, longevity, and effectiveness as having units around the house maximizes convenience, while the single Dock and multiple units in rotation simply multiplies and maximizes unit lifespan.
