FAQs
1. How does it work?
Blow anything in, get 100% odorless air out. With a repeatedly dryable HEPA filter and cleanable prefilter that collects resin and limits passage of moisture, Smoke Eraser outlasts everything on the market. An optional Docking Station is also available for anyone to safely dry delicate filter pleats overnight, increasing the lifespan of countless units. It also reverses clogging from moisture.
2. Do they cost more than other units?
If so, it's peanuts compared to the savings. Don't let any of our prices fool you. We've got the most cost efficient options on the market, hands down. Longer Lifespans -> Fewer Units -> Big Savings.
3. What is the point of it?
To share airspace more respectfully, vape whenever and wherever you choose, conceal smoke sessions, or simply hide either habit altogether.
4. Does it block the odor too?
Designed to eliminate all exhaled smoke and odor, every unit receives a guaranteed sufficient amount of activated carbon to ensure maximum odor suppression.
5. What makes them so satisfying?
We add a bit of back pressure to control flow. Otherwise, it would be like trying to blow forcefully with your mouth wide open. How'd that feel? Kind of like puckering your lips to whistle, if that makes sense. With our wide open blow-through, this produces a much more satisfying experience than other units. It's just more attention to detail.
6. What if it's clogging?
Nine times out of ten, it's time to fully dry the HEPA filter. But if you've been at it a while, drying the unit, purging the resin, and it's just staying restricted, it's probably just spent. Time for a new one. But if it seems too early for that, remove the lid and let it dry completely. This would also be a good time to soak prefilter in alcohol. Now depending on how heavily you use it, fully drying it could possibly take days. Everyone's different. So if you'd like to expedite the drying, you can add a Docking Station. You'll simply park the restricted unit on top, and it's typically back open a few hours. But this is also why my vets often rotate pairs. With enough units for demand (enough to avoid saturation), you'll not only give them sufficient downtime, but often multiply the life of each in rotation. That's actually true of any brand, btw.
7. What about Smoke "off the end"?
To conceal side-stream smoke, always avoid methods with continuous burning (J's for example). Vaporization seems to be most effective, but if combustion (burning) is necessary, make sure to clear the chamber each time and to cover the bowl. Do both, of course, after every rip to extinguish the cherry. For more on this, see my post about it.
8. Are mouthpieces reversible?
Absolutely. Be sure to try it both ways. If one way doesn't suit you, you've got a 2nd option with it reversed. Personally I go back and forth, but recently seem to love it inside out. It just allows your lips to wrap around kind of a raised ridge. idk, it's like a big short straw.
9. How are they so small?
When you can manage moisture, longevity no longer depends on size.
10. How do I increase lifespan?
Remove lid and prefilter at night to ventilate. Soak prefilter in alcohol as needed to purge resin. Fully dry HEPA filter occasionally with Docking Station.
11. Do I need a Dock?
Docking Station is optional. It's just helpful because occasionally drying HEPA filters increases lifespan. And one Dock will increase countless. They'll also open up any restriction from moisture.
12. What is the "Pro" version?
Well kinda like ol' John Mellencamp. I think we've just come full circle. Like the Cougar, I think we're gonna drop all labels. So no more Pro, V3, 4, 5. With this thing finally perfected, let's just go back to Smoke Eraser. Keep it simple.
Pro Tip - Not only does the prefilter protect the HEPA filter from moisture, it also limits passage of resin. So you do have the option to purge this as needed by simply soaking prefilter in alcohol.
