Frequently Asked Questions
1. How does it work? Blow anything in, get 100% odorless air out. With a repeatedly dryable HEPA filter and cleanable prefilter that collects resin and limits passage of moisture, Smoke Eraser outlasts everything on the market. An optional Docking Station is also available for anyone to safely dry delicate filter pleats overnight, increasing countless lifespans. It also reverses clogging from moisture for heavy users.
2. Do they cost more than other units? If so, it's peanuts compared to the savings. Don't let any of our prices fool you. We've got the most cost efficient options on the market, hands down. Longer Lifespans -> Fewer Units -> Big Savings.
3. What is the point of it? To share airspace more respectfully, vape whenever and wherever you choose, conceal smoke sessions, or simply hide either habit altogether.
4. Does it block the odor too? Designed to eliminate all exhaled smoke and odor, every unit receives a guaranteed sufficient amount of activated carbon to ensure maximum order suppression.
5. What makes them so satisfying? We add a bit of back pressure to control flow. Otherwise, it would be like trying to blow forcefully with your mouth wide open. How'd that feel? Kind of like puckering your lips to whistle, if that makes sense. With our wide open blow-through, this produces a much more satisfying experience than other units. It's just more attention to detail.
6. What if it's clogging up? Nine times out of ten, it's simply time to fully dry the HEPA filter. But if the unit's old and you've been doing this and purging resin from prefilter for a while and it's remaining restricted, it's probably spent. Time for a new one. But if it's early in the lifespan, remove the lid and let it dry out completely. This would be a good time to also soak prefilter in alcohol to remove collected resin. Now depending on how heavily you use it, fully drying it could possibly take days. Everyone is different. If you need to expedite drying, add a Dock. You park a restricted unit on a Dock, and it'll be wide open in a couple hours. But this is why my vets also rotate pairs. Rotating enough units for demand will often keep each of them wide open as you're giving each a sufficient amount of downtime. True of any brand, btw.
7. What about Smoke "off the end"? To conceal side-stream smoke, always avoid methods with continuous burning (J's for example). Vaporization seems to be most effective, but if combustion (burning) is necessary, make sure to clear the chamber each time. In addition to that, simply cover the bowl after each rip to extinguish the cherry. For more on this, see my blog post about it.
8. Are the mouthpieces reversible? Yes. Be sure to try it both ways. If one way doesn't suit you, try it reversed. I still go back and forth, but have recently grown to love it inside out. It allows your lips to wrap around a raised ridge kind of giving you a tighter seal.
9. How are they so small? When you can manage moisture, longevity no longer depends on size of unit.
10. How do I increase lifespan? Remove lid and prefilter at night to ventilate. Soak prefilter in alcohol as needed to purge resin. Fully dry HEPA filter occasionally with a Docking Station.
11. Do I need a Dock? Docking Station is optional. It's just helpful because occasionally drying HEPA filters increases lifespan and re-opens restricted units. This is key for heavy users especially. Just remove lid and prefilter, flip the Smoke Eraser over, and park it on the Dock.
12. What is the "Pro" version? Kinda like John Cougar, we've come full circle, guys. So forget about the Pro, V3, 4, 5. With this thing finally perfected, how about we just go back to Smoke Eraser? What do you say?
Pro Tip - Not only does the prefilter protect the HEPA filter from moisture, it limits restriction from resin too. When necessary, remove the mesh and cotton disc and soak them both in rubbing alcohol to eliminate collected resin.
